Optical microscopy is a prominent and fundamental visualization tool used to aid in discovery of complex and dynamic processes in the three-dimensional cellular world. Modern microscopy tools are capable of recording spatiotemporal information from static and dynamic systems with unprecedented resolution and speed.

In this presentation, we will demonstrate how modern imaging techniques and image analysis software can be used for sample characterization. Some imaging tools developed for biological applications can be applied to study micro structures and artifact material degradation processes.
